Bye bye 545. It was good while it lasted

I made the final voyage of the 545 today, down to the dealership to turn it in. I sent it off in style, though, by roadtripping with a bunch of guys up to Indianapolis for the Formula 1 USGP (pics at http://www.flickr.com/photos/matthewbelk/sets/72157619696116540/show/) last weekend. It was (still is, really) a great car, but just not agile and "tossable" enough for me. I'll tell you what, though; it eats highway miles for breakfast.

Unfortunately, when I met with my salesman to process the lease turn-in, he gave me some very bad news. My 335 has been flagged as damaged by the prep center and needs a new front bumper cover. Bummer.

On home soil

So my car was unloaded off of the COURAGE at 2:46pm today, according to the shipping company website. It has to go through a more manual customs process than other new cars straight from the factory since the chain of custody was broken when I took delivery of it back in Munich. When will I actually get it back? Who knows?
