Reunited and it feels so good!

My car finally came in today. W00t! I didn't even give my sales advisor time to get the car detailed. Picked it up around 2 and took the long way back to the office. I had almost forgotted what it felt like to drive. It definitely makes my old 5er feel like a barge. You can see some pictures in my gallery.

Some good news... finally...

So I just got an email from my Sales Advisor that my car was released to the distribution company this morning. Thank God!!! I should have the car by the end of the week at the latest, and possibly as early as Wednesday.

Happy Day!

Waiting impatiently...

Still waiting on the car. It's been at the prep center now for 16 days and counting with no ETD. My local salesman has inquired with the prep center distribution manager as to the cause for the delays, and is optimistic that this person will be able to light a fire under somebody's ass.

As it is, I have been reduced to mooching rides off friends and coworkers for the past week and a half.

Bye bye 545. It was good while it lasted

I made the final voyage of the 545 today, down to the dealership to turn it in. I sent it off in style, though, by roadtripping with a bunch of guys up to Indianapolis for the Formula 1 USGP (pics at http://www.flickr.com/photos/matthewbelk/sets/72157619696116540/show/) last weekend. It was (still is, really) a great car, but just not agile and "tossable" enough for me. I'll tell you what, though; it eats highway miles for breakfast.

Unfortunately, when I met with my salesman to process the lease turn-in, he gave me some very bad news. My 335 has been flagged as damaged by the prep center and needs a new front bumper cover. Bummer.

On home soil

So my car was unloaded off of the COURAGE at 2:46pm today, according to the shipping company website. It has to go through a more manual customs process than other new cars straight from the factory since the chain of custody was broken when I took delivery of it back in Munich. When will I actually get it back? Who knows?

A nice surprise...

We got our painting today. It looks fantastic! Both Angela and I remarked that it looked smaller on the wall than it did in the gallery.

The ship with my car on it left Bremerhaven on the 29th and is headed to Antwerp, Belgium tomorrow.

We only have 2 more episodes of Heroes to watch from iTunes, then the season finale on the big TV in HD. It's really getting good now...

Some news...

Got a call from Mr. Kilian in Strasbourg that he shipped out our painting on the 21st and we should receive it 8-10 days from then. Hopefully by next Wednesday or Thursday.

I also found out that my car has been trucked to the port and is booked on a ship called the “COURAGE,” scheduled to depart the port of Bremerhaven, Germany on the 28th, arriving in New York on June, 11th.

Have stopped watching Heroes for now to get caught up on E.R., Grays Anatomy, etc.
